All BMSS personnel have broad and notable maritime experience at sea in the military, law enforcement and commercial environs, with the ability to work with fellow mariners instinctively and competently.

Our PATs comprise experienced former Naval and Military personnel, well-trained in the most current Anti-Piracy and Hardening Measures.

Stand-along Hardening Surveys can be commissioned on specific vessels or class of vessels in your fleet. Hardening Surveys are carried out by a senior consultant. A full report will be produced which highlights present counter measures in place, deficiencies and recommendations to rectify.

Analysis and assessment of piracy, criminal, terrorism or any other security or safety related threat against clients and their assets.  We carry out a thorough Risk Assessment prior to operations within High Risk or Vulnerable Areas, using the very latest available information, combining statutory regulations with supplementary measures to combat and counteract piracy, terrorism or criminal activity against your interests.

Our trusted and highly experienced Bridge Advisors are sourced from experienced and recent serving naval and military personnel. This ensures that the Master always receives credible and tactically astute information during transit. Single Bridge Advisors are recommended for low risk vessels and cruise ships.

We provide experienced and qualified maritime surveyors and experienced auditors for compliance and governance requirements.  Be it for Classification or national authority purposes, in relation to safety or security, our expert consultants will cover all mandated aspects and deliver objective reports for your further action.  Our staff will also carry out ‘third party’ analysis, assessment, audits or surveys of your company policy, processes, procedures or assets in order to provide objective and impartial feedback into your business protocols.  The consultants can further provide support in recommending, developing and implementing capability improvements to your business and company as desired.

Our team of experts can develop a range of training capabilities and documentation to meet the client’s needs, and deliver the theoretical and practical training if so required across the many levels and competencies of maritime and terrestrial operations, safety and security innate to the skills and expertise of our consultants.  Development and delivery of training packages can be included in any of the functions undertaken by our experts to meet the client’s needs.  Examples of training capability to clients include but are not limited to:

We provide experienced and skilled maritime operators with knowledge to conduct security surveys and audits of Ports and Port Facilities for compliance with the ISPS Code and national governance requirements.  Be it in relation to safety or security, our expert consultants will cover all mandated aspects and deliver objective reports for your further action, or even implement that action on the client’s behalf if so desired.  Our staff can also carry out ‘third party’ analysis, assessment, audits or surveys of ports or port facilities in order to provide objective and impartial feedback into your business decision matrix.  The consultants can further provide support in recommending, developing and implementing capability improvements to subject port or facilities as desired.

We offer a comprehensive vessel / fleet monitoring service through a closely associated third party provider with addition of up-to-the-minute maritime security and safety intelligence supplied to the relevant vessels so as to assist the ships and companies to make timely operational and tactical decisions in order to avoid or mitigate any threat to those assets.  The same information is provided to our PATs as they support vessels operating within any High Risk Area.

In conjunction with the audit and training services we provide relating to ISPS Code compliance as indicated above, our personnel are available for short or long-term contractual obligation for employment as Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) or Company Security Officers (CSO).  Our experts can be embedded into your organisation to establish and manage the compliance requirements, develop policy and procedure, implement programs and training to prepare for and maintain your port or company to ISPS compliance standards.  Courses for Ship Security Officer (SSO), CSO and PFSO can also be provided as desired.
